ADHD

ADHD, or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with functioning or development. It often manifests in childhood but can persist into adulthood. Symptoms may include difficulty sustaining attention, difficulty organizing tasks, forgetfulness, excessive talking, fidgeting, and acting without considering the consequences. ADHD is diagnosed based on specific criteria outlined in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition) and may be managed through behavioral therapies, counseling, and medication. The exact cause of ADHD is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve genetic, environmental, and neurological factors.
