Fotbal

Fotbal, known as football or soccer in various regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The primary objective is to score by getting the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet to control and pass the ball, but they can also use their head and torso, while the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands within the penalty area.

The sport is governed by the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), and is overseen globally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). Football is the world’s most popular sport, with millions of players and fans, and is played at both amateur and professional levels. Major international competitions include the FIFA World Cup and continental tournaments such as the UEFA European Championship and Copa América.

Throughout its history, football has evolved in terms of tactics, player fitness, and techniques, but it maintains its foundational principles of teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. It fosters community, cultural exchange, and global connection, making it a significant aspect of many societies.
