Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field, with four bases arranged in a square. The objective of baseball is for players on the batting team to hit a pitched ball and run around the bases to score runs, while the defensive team tries to prevent runs by getting batters out through various means, such as catching batted balls, throwing to bases, or striking players out.

The game is divided into nine innings, during which each team has an opportunity to bat and field. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball is known for its rich history, intricate strategies, and its cultural significance, particularly in countries such as the United States, Japan, and several Latin American nations. It is often referred to as America’s pastime and has various professional leagues, the most prominent being Major League Baseball (MLB).
